Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine uses natural therapies to support the body's innate wisdom. We use this medicine to influence the body to heal itself, not to suppress symptoms. Individually, these modalities are considered Complementary and Alternative Medicine, but Naturopathic Physicians are experts in these methods and how to use them following six guiding principles.

VIS MEDICATRIX NATURAE - the healing power of nature

TOLLE TOTUM - treat the whole person

TOLLE CAUSUM - treat the cause

DOCERE - doctor as teacher

PREVENIRE - prevention is the best cure 

The therapeutic order of Naturopathic Medicine is a suggested progression of treatment. This order ensures that the doctor uses the least amount of interventions to encourage the body back towards a state of health.

  • Establish the conditions for health
  • Stimulate self-healing mechanisms
  • Strengthen weakened systems
  • Correct structural integrity
  • Use natural substances to restore or regenerate
  • Use pharmacologic or synthetic substances
  • Suppress pathology
